Lewis Garner, born and raised in Boise, Idaho, grew a love for making music and participating in authentic performances at an early age. After serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he was accepted into the Brigham Young University (BYU) School of Music at Provo, Utah. He is currently finishing his undergraduate degree of Music Performance at BYU-Idaho in Rexburg, where he met and married the love of his life.
In addition to performing in the symphony orchestra, chamber orchestra, and baroque ensembles at BYU-Idaho, Lewis engages in creating, collaborating, and composing other types of music with other groups as well. Garner debuted with The Good News on their single “The Prisoner” and continues contributing to the band as their third member. He also plays the cello parts on the songs by Christian band Peace of Heaven.
Garner also writes his own music in a variety of instrumental genres and contemporary classical styles. He dabbles in writing arrangements of classical pieces for three cellos. His instrumental music can be heard on most streaming services, and his classical pieces and arrangements will be found on YouTube.
